Dr. Carol Smith has called Birmingham home since 1994. Hailing from a military family, she was pleased to find such a welcoming city to settle and practice for the past 32 years. She holds degrees from the George Washington University and the University of Tennessee School of Medicine-Memphis.

Dr. Carol Smith has called Birmingham home since 1994. Hailing from a military family, she was pleased to find such a welcoming city to settle and practice for the past 32 years. She holds degrees from the George Washington University and the University of Tennessee School of Medicine-Memphis. She completed her Pediatric Residency at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis as well as Fellowship training in Allergy & Clinical Immunology at UAB and the Children’s Hospital of Alabama. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology to treat both Adult and Pediatric patients with Asthma, Allergic and Immunologic disorders.
Dr. Smith is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, previously served as the President of the Alabama Society of Allergy and Immunology, has been an active supporter of the American Lung Association where she served as the Medical Chairperson for their annual Asthma Walk, and has enjoyed her summers as “Doctor Carol” at Camp WheezeAway - our state’s yearly summer camp for kids with asthma. She is active in local and state initiatives for the advancement of education in Asthma and Allergic Disease. She is happy to see any patients with allergies, asthma, recurrent infections, adverse reactions, chronic hives or eczema.
Outside of work, Dr. Smith enjoys anything outdoors- cycling, swimming, pickleball, and riding her Vespa.

Originally from Southern California, Dr. Robertson attended the University of California at Irvine for both his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences and the School of Medicine for his medical degree, graduating with honors.

Originally from Southern California, Dr. Robertson attended the University of California at Irvine for both his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences and the School of Medicine for his medical degree, graduating with honors. He then completed his residency in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Penn State University. Dr. Robertson also received specialized sinus surgery training at Shadyside Hospital / University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He then finalized his medical training with a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery here in Birmingham.
Dr. Robertson is board certified by both the American Board of Otolaryngology and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is a member of the American Rhinologic Society.
Alabama has been home for Dr. Robertson and his family for over 25 years. Dr. Robertson and his wife, Yumi spend much of their time raising their younger children, while his older children are pursuing careers in medicine and in law. Dr. Robertson’s free time is mostly spent at his children’s sporting events, hiking and traveling.

Dr. Ryan Marshall was born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of Mississippi. He earned both a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences and his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.

He was the recipient of many honors including his election to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. He then completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Marshall is board certified in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (ENT) and treats patients with the full spectrum of ear, nose, and throat conditions. He has an interest in sinus disease, voice disorders, sleep apnea, and facial plastic surgery. We are thrilled to have Ryan join our practice, as he will be able to provide a wide range of skills and services to our patients.
Dr. Marshall, his wife Sarah, and their two young children live in the Birmingham area. In his free time, he enjoys golf, exercising, cooking, and spending time with his family.

Beth is a board-certified Family nurse practitioner with over 10 years of clinical experience. She graduated from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor of
Science in Nursing and received her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Beth is a board-certified Family nurse practitioner with over 10 years of clinical experience. She graduated from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and received her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. She’s been a part of our team for the past 8 years and has enjoyed developing long-lasting relationships with many of her patients. Beth is committed to treating her patients and their symptoms, but it’s also important to her to explore and define the root cause of their issues. By doing this, she can consider all possible treatment options and tailor individual treatment plans.
Outside of work, Beth enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 young children, and their golden doodle, Louie.

Michelle joins the practice with over 8 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in the field of allergy, upper respiratory tract infections, and asthma. She takes pride in getting to know each of her patients well in order to formulate the best plan of care and individualized treatment options. She enjoys teaching and educating patients on their diagnosis to ensure complete understanding and patient-centered care.
Michelle, her husband, and their three young children currently live in Shelby County and have considered Birmingham home for the last 17 years. In her free time, she enjoys travel, outdoor activities, and spending time with family.

Amber is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). She began her nursing career in 2008 and earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2015.

Amber began her career as a Nurse Practitioner in Family Medicine and Pediatrics and now has over 4 years of experience specializing in Allergy and Asthma. She enjoys developing a great rapport with her patients and working together to develop the best plan of care. Amber places a strong emphasis on patient education and strives to ensure every patient fully understands their diagnosis and treatment options.
Outside of work, Amber enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, traveling and exploring new places, trying out new restaurants, and catching her favorite bands live whenever she can.

A native of Birmingham, she is a regular at the Christmas Village, enjoys playing musical instruments, attending concerts and musicals, trying new restaurants, and enjoying the outdoors with her husband, two pups, and two children.

As a child of parents with dual sensory losses, vision and hearing loss, Abby Ryan has a lifetime of personal experience with hearing loss, hearing aids, and the hardships faced by those with multiple impairments.
Interested in what caused her mother’s sudden sensorineural hearing loss, Dr. Ryan took courses on communication disorders and audiology. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Alabama and her Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) from Auburn University. Dr. Ryan completed her Clinical Fellowship Year with the UAB Civitan-Sparks Clinics. These clinics are part of the Civitan International Research Center whose mission is to provide education, research, and services on developmental disabilities. During this time, she presented her research on the choice of musical instrument and its effects on auditory working memory and perception in adolescents at the Civitan International / Simpson-Ramsey Neurodevelopmental Symposium.
Most recently, Dr. Ryan has presented on her experience as part of the Cochlear Provider Network (CPN) at the 2022 AuDacity conference for the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA). Dr. Ryan specializes in adult and pediatric diagnostic evaluations and has special interests in hearing aids, cochlear implants, aural rehabilitation, and vestibular testing.

Dr. Sunena Argo is an Alabama native. After high school she entered the Early Medical School Acceptance Program and received her Bachelor of Science from
the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She then earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alabama School of Medicine.

After high school she entered the Early Medical School Acceptance Program and received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She then earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alabama School of Medicine.
Dr. Argo completed her internship and residency in Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences/Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock and her fellowship in Allergy/Immunology at the University of Missouri- Kansas City/Children’s Mercy Hospital. She is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology as well as the American Board of Pediatrics.
